Al Nassr host Damac on Thursday in the final round of the Saudi Pro League season, knowing that victory would secure the league title. Damac, meanwhile, are still fighting to avoid relegation, making this one of the most dramatic fixtures of the campaign.
It has been a difficult week for Al Nassr. They missed a huge opportunity to clinch the title after conceding a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser against Al Hilal, before suffering a painful 1-0 defeat to Gamba Osaka in the AFC Champions League Two final.
Despite those setbacks, the equation remains simple — beat Damac and become champions. Cristiano Ronaldo will once again be the key figure for the hosts. The Portuguese superstar has scored 26 league goals this season and has netted seven times in five meetings against Damac.
Damac head into the final round under serious pressure as relegation remains a real possibility. Their 3-0 win over Al Fayha last time out moved them outside the drop zone, but they still need a result here if rivals win elsewhere.
The visitors will also be without suspended midfielder Valentin Vada, which could hurt their balance in midfield.
Nine of the last 13 meetings between these sides featured goals from both teams. Al Nassr are expected to attack aggressively from the opening minutes, especially with the title on the line.
Given the hosts’ attacking quality and urgency, Al Nassr scoring over 2.5 team goals remains one of the strongest betting angles for this fixture.
