Aston Villa visit Turf Moor on Sunday to face Burnley in an important Premier League clash.
Villa arrive in strong spirits after qualifying for the UEFA Europa League final during the week and now turn their attention back to securing a top-five finish and Champions League football for next season.
Aston Villa defeated Nottingham Forest 4-0 at Villa Park to complete an emphatic 8-1 aggregate victory and reach the Europa League final.
The result was also significant because it ended a three-match losing streak across all competitions.
Unai Emery’s side are now focused on maintaining their place inside the Premier League’s top five positions.
Burnley have already been relegated back to the Championship.
Scott Parker was recently dismissed following confirmation of relegation, with Michael Jackson taking over on an interim basis.
The Clarets have lost their last five matches and continue to develop a reputation as a “yo-yo” club after another immediate return to the Championship.
Still, Burnley will be hoping to play for pride in their remaining fixtures.
Ollie Watkins suffered a head injury against Nottingham Forest and required bandaging, but he is expected to be fit for the trip to Turf Moor.
The striker remains one of Villa’s biggest attacking threats.
Burnley:
Aston Villa:
Bookmakers have positioned Aston Villa as clear favourites due to the major gap in quality and motivation between the sides.
Burnley’s defensive struggles and relegation situation also strengthen Villa’s chances.
The last six meetings between these teams produced 23 total goals, making “Over 2.5 Goals” one of the standout betting options.
