Rest for the young star

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has explained why Lamine Yamal started on the bench in the match against Sevilla.

Speaking to DAZN, the German coach said the 17-year-old had played many games recently and needed some rest.

Busy week ahead

Flick also mentioned that Barcelona are facing several difficult matches this week.

“Yamal has played a lot recently and we have three tough matches this week. We needed to give him a bit of rest,” the coach said.

Focus on Newcastle clash

The decision is also linked to the upcoming Champions League second-leg match against Newcastle on March 18.

The match against Sevilla is currently in progress, with Barcelona leading 5:1.
