Defeat Followed by Protest

Inter Milan suffered a 1–3 away defeat against FK Bodø/Glimt in the Champions League playoff first leg.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian side have submitted an official complaint to UEFA regarding the condition of the artificial pitch.

Head coach Cristian Chivu also expressed dissatisfaction with the surface after the match.

Snow Clearance and Safety Concerns

Around 80 tons of snow were cleared from the stadium before kickoff due to severe weather, and visible defects were reportedly present on the pitch. Even prior to snowfall, Inter had raised informal concerns with UEFA over player safety.

The club argue that the surface does not meet the standards required for top-tier European competitions.

Injury Worries

During the match, striker Lautaro Martinez suffered a calf injury and was substituted in the 61st minute. Midfielder Piotr Zielinski also picked up an injury after coming on.

Meanwhile, Davide Frattesi and Hakan Calhanoglu missed the game as a precaution.

Inter have blamed the pitch conditions for the injuries and their inability to field a full-strength squad.
