Stade Rennais FC defender Jeremie Jake will undergo surgery.

The 20-year-old suffered a serious shoulder injury during the Ligue 1 match against RC Lens on February 7, which Rennes lost 3–1.

Liverpool transfer uncertainty

Liverpool agreed to sign the player during the winter transfer window for around €64 million.

However, the transfer is expected to be completed officially in the summer.

Season could be over

Following the surgery, it remains unclear whether the defender will miss the rest of the season, which could also affect the timing of his move to Liverpool.
