Manchester United are reportedly keen to appoint Germany national team coach Julian Nagelsmann as their new head coach.
The club have already made preliminary contact.
The move is strongly backed by Christopher Vivell, while the board believe Nagelsmann could replicate the legendary success achieved by Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool FC.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Vivell’s influence within the club has reportedly increased, with the German’s tactical approach highly valued.
Meanwhile, key players including Bruno Fernandes are backing interim coach Michael Carrick.
If Carrick departs, Fernandes would only stay on a new deal worth £400,000 per week plus bonuses. If Carrick remains, the Portuguese midfielder is open to more balanced wage negotiations.
