Champions League Draw: Qarabağ’s Opponents Announced

Today, the draw for the Champions League League Stage took place in Monaco. The ceremony started at 20:00 Baku time. Qarabağ, representing Azerbaijan in the tournament, has been drawn against 8 opponents. The Aghdam club will play 4 matches in Baku and 4 away.

Qarabağ was represented at the draw by Vice President Fevzihan Aras, CEO and Board Member Emrah Celikel, Board Member Asif Asgarov, Head of Operations Farid Aghayev, and Head of Communications Anar Hajiyev.

Draw rules
The 36 teams were divided into 4 pots. Qarabağ was placed in Pot 4, which contained the lower-ranked clubs. Using an automated system, 8 opponents were randomly assigned to each club. From each pot, two teams were drawn to face clubs from other pots. Teams from the same association cannot play each other, and a maximum of two teams from one association can be in the same group.
