Cristiano Ronaldo has once again surpassed Lionel Messi.
The Portuguese striker scored a brace in the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Armenia (5:0). With these goals, Ronaldo’s tally in World Cup qualifying matches reached 38, moving ahead of Messi, who has 36. Earlier, Messi scored twice against Venezuela (3:0). Currently, Ronaldo is second on the all-time World Cup qualifiers’ top scorers list, trailing only former Guatemala forward Carlos Ruiz (39 goals). Ali Daei from Iran (35 goals) is fourth, while Poland’s Robert Lewandowski (31 goals) sits in fifth place.
