Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has provided an update on Wataru Endo, who was injured in the 1-0 win over Sunderland.
Slot confirmed that the 33-year-old defender suffered a serious ankle injury, although the full extent will only be determined after medical examinations.
The Dutch manager admitted that Endo’s condition does not look promising and suggested the Japanese international could face a long spell on the sidelines.
Liverpool are already dealing with injuries to players in the same position, including Conor Bradley and Jeremy Frimpong.
Endo has made 13 appearances this season, registering one assist.
