The Azerbaijan national team have parted ways with head coach Fernando Santos.

AFFA general secretary Cahangir Farajullayev announced:
“Today, by decision of the AFFA Executive Committee, the contract with national team head coach Fernando Santos has been terminated by mutual agreement.”

Santos was appointed as Azerbaijan’s head coach in the summer of last year.
