Italian club Brescia could be wiped off the football map.
Sky Sports reported on this.
The club could lose its professional status due to non-payment of debts. Brescia has been declared bankrupt after failing to pay a €3 million debt. This statement casts doubt on the future of the team, which is at risk of being dissolved or forced to play in the lower divisions of Italian football.
It is noted that the financial problems occurred after Brescia's poor performance in Serie B last season.
The club's bankruptcy resulted in Sampdoria remaining in Serie B. Genoa was also due to leave the championship, but was allowed to stay in the 2nd division due to Brescia's expulsion.
After the bankruptcy decree is adopted, Brescia could be dissolved or reorganized under new management and name.
Brescia, founded 114 years ago, has a rich history in Italian football. Because Brescia was the former club of famous players such as Andrea Pirlo, Roberto Baggio, Josep Guardiola and Mario Balotelli.
